We are pleased that over 30% of our business in our former rental condos in New York was from repeat customers. Some became very fond of their favorite apartment and insist on staying there, even if it meant arranging their flights/trips around our availability or booking six months in advance.

Perhaps you would enjoy seeing some of the e-mails/letters we received.

Hi Alby

Just wanted to let you know that we both had a wonderful time while in New York recently. We both miss it terribly, and am finding it hard to adjust back to life here in Australia. It seems so slooooow and dull!! The apartment was fantastic, and I will recommend it highly, should any of our friends decide to visit someday....as for us, I'm sure we'll be back someday soon. Hey to Kyle and Delano also.

Take care all

Hi Alby,

Oh boy do I miss New York! Thanks for making my stay in New York so wonderful. I loved "living with you". It felt so much like home!

How are you? I hope all is well, and that you're feeling full of life and energy. And happy!!!!!!!!!

Well. I miss you my friend. Someday, I'll come back to New York, and I'll see you then.

Until then TAKE CARE, and please give my regards to Mark

Mr. McMeen:

I have decided to return to Brazil earlier than expected, having finished all I needed to do. I enjoyed staying in your establishment and will highly recommend it to all going to NYC. As I have paid all in advance, you are not out.

Thanks again for a great stay! The place was the best we've had in NYC!

Will definitely recommend it to others! Take care and if there's anything we've left in the apartment, please send them to me and e-mail me how much so I can either send you a check or cash - thank you!

Alby, I sent this out to my list this morning.  About five hundred friends, colleagues, family, editors.  A lot of people wrote me back, thankfully.

I've stayed my last two business trips at a townhouse on the upper west side, 88th street near West End Avenue.  It's an upscale neighborhood, privately owned townhouse which rents out apartments by the day and week.   Owner is an author.  Apartment rates start at $127 by the night, and goes down to $107 if you rent by the week.  One is two bedrooms, probably about $150, all have living rooms, no charge for phone calls (good for internet).  I definitely recommend it.  I taxied sometimes to appointments midtown, and it was three blocks from the 1 and 9 subway.

Dear Albert McMeen:

I want to say thank you for the kindness and hospitality during my stay (11th to 16th). I really loved the room I stayed at from the heart!

And what is more, when, I was leaving, that you saw me off in the rain of hurricane to catch a cab made me feel helped so much. So we made it to JFK airport in time, but arrived Japan one hour behind the schedule.

When I have chance to go to NY, I want to put up at your place again. And, if you have chance to come over to Japan, please let me know so that I can guide you and take around in Japan.

Thank you for you kindness and hospitality again.

Albert,

Sorry we didn't get a chance to say goodbye. We had a lovely time here and the apartment was ideal - much better than a hotel.

I hope we have left everything in order - and worry not - the towels are in the washing machine!

Dear Mr. McMeen,

We want to thank you for your friendliness and hospitality, which enhanced the very pleasant time we had in Manhattan. We stayed in Apt 9 (5-13 March) and found it delightful. We were also pleased with its location, being somewhat removed from the bustle of the city yet so convenient for travel downtown.

Once again, thanks for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Thank you so much for sending me my glasses. It was very thoughtful to call us to see if they were ours and your taking the time to wrap them up and send them out. I got your package this afternoon. I called you to say thank you & you were out. It's very much appreciated. You're a gentlemen.

Dear Alby,

It was good talking to you and glad all is well. We would have been very disappointed had "our" apartment not been available. It's beginning to feel like a home away from home.

Looking forward to another fin time in New York and seeing you guys again.

Dear Alby, Greetings,

It was so pleasant to be able to stay, once again, in familiar "cozy" surroundings, and we thank you for your hospitality. You seem to have a lot of nice tenants in this building which also adds to the atmosphere.

We look forward to staying here again when we next visit NYC.

Dear Mr. McMeen

I greatly appreciate your courtesy in reminding me of the non-arrival of my deposit and holding the accommodations against my personal guarantee alone. Other landlords would have merely cancelled the booking. For this reason, I have chosen to remit prepayment for the entire stay, which will I hope, confirm with you my bona fide intentions.
