Here is additional information about Parking and Pets and other FAQs:

Parking very close:  Duarte Motors Parking is a lot just two blocks from the house, with in and out privileges for $105 for the whole week for a regular car, but add $10 to $15 per day more for SUVs, basically anything bigger than a compact car. It is on Bradford Street, just across from the Mobile Station. Never park at the MacMillan Pier Parking Lot because it costs $30 per day.

Parking 7 minutes away: If you plan to infrequently use the car, then, the high school parking lot (Called the Grace Hall Lot, located at Prince and Bradford Streets) is only $13 per day, but it is a 7 minute walk from the house. Lot #4 of this one is a bit farther, but you can obtain a $75 per week permit in advance, and then go in and out at your convenience without the need for a daily ticket. These permits are obtained following instructions at this link: Provincetown Parking. (Essentially, you send a copy of your registration and license and a check for the permit to Parking Department, 26 Shankpainter Rd, Provincetown, MA 02657. Then, they mail a receipt back to you to place in your car, or you can pick it up at the police department when you arrive. You can call them at 508-487-7050.)

Parking 13 minutes away: For guests planning to rarely use their cars, or having bicycles to ride back and forth, There is the real bargain of the Jerome Smith Lot. It is not even mentioned on the town web site! This lot is at the intersection of Jerome Smith and Route 6, just off the Shankpainter Rd intersection with Route 6. This costs only $40 for the whole week. Use the same procedure as immediately above to get your permit.

Parking on the streets: There is free — but highly restricted — street parking in Provincetown, but we never would even consider it in July and August.

Check-in: We do not guarantee check-in until 4 PM. (We have to clean 4 apartments after guests depart at 10 AM.) We are normally finished by 2 PM, but if you intend to arrive early, please park your car in the lot you have chosen (see above), and have a nice lunch. We will most likely be ready for you after that. If you are going to be early, let me know by calling 508-776-5746 when you come onto the cape

Weekly Rentals: We only rent by the week. (This is true for nearly all condo and house rentals in P-town because renting for periods less than a week causes us to be categorized as a hotel, requiring us to then collect the 11.5% room tax from every guest.)

Arrival: When approaching Provincetown, driving up Route 6, take the second exit (full traffic signal) to Provincetown, turn left down Conwell Street, take a right onto Bradford, take a left onto Johnson Street and a right onto Commercial. You are now about 100 feet to 349 Commercial. When you arrive to unload your vehicle. just park across the street from Designer's Dock at 349 Commercial. Telephone me at 508-776-5746 when you arrive for check-in and I will stay by your vehicle until you are fully unloaded.

Pets: Unfortunately, your pets would not be welcome. We had an incident about 15 years ago, and it was so devastating that I promised myself it would never happen again. Too bad that one bad guest spoiled it for everyone else, but with only 6 hours to clean all of the apartments for the next guests, there is no time to replace beds, sofas or rugs.

Service Dogs: The Sun Sentinel in Florida did an interesting article on service dogs. If you are the owner of a service dog, please read via this link: Service Dog Validation.  After observing a Doberman with a "service dog" sign attack one of our former guests on Commercial Street last summer, we do not allow service dogs. For the purposes of the ADA, we are considered a private accommodation because we have fewer than five accommodations for rent and we actually occupy one of the apartments as a residence.

Cancellations: Your deposit is guaranteed fully refundable if cancelled at least 3 months before your reservation or if we are able to re-rent. (If we have to cut a deal with a prospective replacement guest because it is late in the season, your deposit refund may be less than 100%.)
